As Above So Below by CircleArt
“That which is Below corresponds to that which is Above, and that which is Above, corresponds to that which is Below, to accomplish the miracles of the One Thing”. This sentence is from the “The Emerald Tablet” of Hermes Trismegistus, father of Hermeticism. Other translations of this sentence can be found here: http://www.sacred-texts.com/alc/emerald.htm. This is a pen and ink drawing that I brought into Photoshop, duplicated, and rotated. The original image of the tree and spiral root took me about 15 minutes to draw. I then spent over an hour getting the spiral roots of the two trees to connect in a pleasing way. If anyone knows where to find spiral templates please email me, I am spirally challenged.

The Occult Artists Collective is a project dedicated to displaying and promoting the work of living practitioners of the Hidden Art.

Throughout history practitioners of the magical arts have used artwork and the poetic verse as a method of transmitting, through symbolism and allegory, that which cannot be conveyed through the vulgar word.
It is in this spirit that this project is born. May it be a hallowed temple for the faithful congregant. May the torch of illumination tear through the dark, as the darkness whispers sweetly psalms of praise.
Let the Great Work be displayed in the gallery of the soul.
In Tenebris, Lux.
